Re: [camnetwork] FINALLY WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR - ANY CRITICISMS"

My Dear friends talking about the so-called consortium, please read the attached article.
I am besides myself to hear us confusing our people again. I completely reject the so-called consortium and I have not done so out of emotion.
I have attached an article explaining the nonsense that they want our people to buy. Please give yourselves a few minutes to read it and pass it on to others, especially federation lovers.
Let that consortium die the way it came. This is not the moment for anyone to start posturing to get a few cents from the colonial regime, and lacing their posturing with lies.
Read please.

Mr. J Acham,
Please can we remember that A FEDERATION is what we started with and that it is the dominant partner - La Republique that used its greater number to bring us to where we are?

What guarantees that what goes around will not come around? In another 50yrs, our children will certainly be in this same situation again if we settle for a Federation.

Therefore let us solve this problem once and for ever by asking for our total freedom- the INDEPENDENCE that we already have but which the Republic of Cameroon has debrived us of our freedom!

I believe that the third party to be present during all talks will be the UN, and being so, any agreement arrived at will be final.

Mr Awah,
It does not by any means stop the move toward total Independence and Sovereignty. The consortium is not powerful to make this call. The Government will.

Hello Jonathan,

I embraced the communiqué with all my heart until I read the last paragraph, then my heart sank and my jaws drooped. Immediately, I thought of the efforts of Late Dr. Kevin

Gumne and HRH Chief Otun Ayamba who fought and died giving their best in the struggle, Dr. Nfor Ngala Nfor since 1995, Mola Njoh Litumbe, Professor Carlson Ayangwe and HRH Fon Gorji Dinka who are still working hard for our independence, and lastly, I thought

of countless rank and file who fought and some were murdered for the cause of our independence and today,  young men and women protesting and risking their lives for the same objective.

Our daughters are being pulled from their homes by the police and armies, and commanded to roll in germs-infested muddy gutters. This is unacceptable inhumane humiliation.

This is all on video. The cry on the ground from Nkambe to Victoria is Independence! Independence! Independence!

But, below is the declared demand of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium:

"3. The return to a two-state Federation as was envisaged in 1961 pursuant to resolution 1608 of the United Nations General Assembly is the best way of the protection, promotion

and preservation of Anglophone rights, identity and existence in a bi-cultural, bi-jural and bilingual  Cameroon." What?

The above-cited quote is a recipe for continued subjugation, this time it would probably be made permanent by the United Uations. Are the Common Law lawyers and Teachers' Union

leadership listening to the people? Are they willing to be looked upon in the future and characterized as we do J.N. Foncha and S.T. Muna today? If this opportunity is squandered, 50 years from today, future generations would resume this fight all over again.

The people's voice and want is supreme. It should not be ignored as the fight progresses. If Mola Njoh Litumbe, Dr. Nfor Ngala Nfor, HRH Gorji Dinka and Dr. Ebenezer Akwanga  are not active participants in the final "negotiations, we will be sold a "bill of

Goods."

A federation in an 80/20 population composition will still ensure the dominance of French Cameroon in dispensing natural sources control, enforcement of  national security,

federal ministerial allotments and sanction of improvement of the national highway infrastructure. We will still be on the short end because the problem with entering into a federation, no matter how lofty the guarantees, the dominant partner would always

exert disproportionate and ultimate control. Let us be careful what we negotiate for. I totally support the beginning of the coming together of our leaders, however, it is not yet complete. Let it be complete sooner than later. Remember the call of the people

Independence!

Awaah.

FINALLY WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ANY CRITICISMS?

Hello All,

As you can see the strike has moved up one step and it is left

to the CPDM government to catch up.  From now on the government will no longer be meeting the strike organizers separately. A broad based committee has been established and there is no longer any question as Lawyer or Teachers trade unions. Government delaying

tactics to facilitate divide and rule has forced this commission to be created. It is non partisan for now
.

The names of the commission members and their signatures are in the attachment.I think it is public responsibility now

to flood the commission with suggestions as to what to put on the table for discussion and how to go about it. I think this is the move all of us were waiting for but its hard to say if this is sufficient to to bring about any success even in starting real

and serious negotiations with the government. The most important thing here is that they have succeeded to declare the formation and publishing its members.

As an individual this is my own suggestion.

Ground rule number I - If any member  or members are arrested,

for whatever reason, while trying to secure their release all negotiations are frozen until that member is released.

I think we should all make known our suggestions no matter how

we think about it.
