It is very true that now a days setting an Educational Institution has become a profitable business and very few number of owners are in the line of providing quality education. These include all types of institution. Until and unless they will not think and practice it, our education system cannot be of good quality.
Apart from it the Councils while framing the guidelines should keep everything in mind as sources of income, expenditure in the form of salaries and infrastructure. The need is of collaboration of all concerned with education system.

The quality of higher education can be implemented by the "Owners" of these institutions.
If profit motive is considered, they focus on maximizing this aspect. Even government run colleges do not have internal quality improvement practices like Academic Councils, Quality Auditing, Performance assessment, Industry-Institute- Government Partnerships, Consultancy Centers, outreach programs, continuing education programs, in-institute faculty development programs and decentralization of administration and empowerment of the faculty to undertake projects.

AICTE gives permission to those individuals who runs hundreds of colleges which are profit oriented, in turn they run the institution with minimum expenditure and maximum profit.
My question is! DO AICTE AUTHORITIES HAVE A MODEL EMULATED BY US TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY?
We have seen lot of those who speak in front of mike are inept and inefficient inside the classroom and even in research.
Many makes declaration on quality improvement with a great concern, Either they forget very next day or they fail do so because they aren't action oriented but speech oriented.
We are not in need of lip service, we need the tangible solution rather rhetoric, then we can accept them.

KOLKATA: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe on Saturday gave a sanction to the concern shared among educationists since long over the quality of higher education. The chairman held that industry bodies are not too sure about the employability of the graduates. Students should also learn soft skills — effective communication, team work, discipline, ethical practice — the AICTE head said.
While delivering the convocation address at Jadavpur University on Saturday, Sahasrabudhe said: "Rapid expansion in the number of colleges and universities in India during the last two decades has made the country create access to higher education and also equity, with a gross enrolment ratio (GER) of more than 24.3%. But, the quality level of education has not achieved the degree of growth that it should have seen. Industry bodies such as NASSCOM, CII, FICCI are lamenting about employability of graduates."
The AICTE chairman gave equal importance to hands on practice, critical thinking apart from the usual focus on the theoretical aspect of the curriculum. "It is not merely the theoretical courses but hands on practice, work experience, living together with people of different backgrounds, human values, accepting differences, critical thinking, analytical ability, appreciating different art forms, music, drama, participation in sports, NCC which are important for holistic development of students," said Sahasrabudhe. In some states, enrolment in technical education is even higher than the total number of candidates qualifying for higher secondary science examination.
However, he appreciated JU for providing an equal opportunity for one and all and held that better understanding of life takes place in the varsity. "It will come to your rescue in times of crisis," Sahasrabudhe said. The AICTE chairman wanted JU to take the lead in interdisciplinary research because subjects taught in colleges particulalarly in technical education becomes outdated by the time students pass out.
"One needs to catch up with any new technology or subject as it emerges, else one becomes irrelevant," he advised the young graduates.
Global rankings which was time and again brought up by various stalwarts in the higher education field in Bengal also found stress in the address of the AICTE chairman.

JU vice-chancellor Suranjan Das took immense pride saying that in the 2017 Times Higher Education World University Ranking and the BRICS Emerging Economics Rankings, the university has bagged the first position among all varsities in India.
Recalling the turbulent times when he assumed office in 2015, Das assured stakeholders that he has been trying to play the role of a VC for all sections of the university community. "The moment I realize my inability to discharge the coordinating role in university governance, I shall not hesitate to offer to step down," Das said.
