Thank you professor for sharing eye opening ground realities existing in our country since 70 years or so. but we could not work out a solution on the issue because of obvious reasons. Every stakeholder involved in the process hardly thinks about long term/larger/national gains, rather they focus mainly on temporary financial or other gains. The main stakeholders are management, students, parents, faculty, university, teacher's associations, state/central Govt., public at large and all concerned Regulatory bodies. The system that has been breeding Shikshan Samrats can hardly meet the quality criteria of education.

Siryou are absolutely correct But Institutions / universities/ colleges should take measurements regarding SC, ST and OBCs . we should not blame the reservations and students.Dr K RavindraProfessorRaamchandrapuramEG (dt) APOn Wednesday, December 28, 2016 1:47 PM, Stephen Narayanan <stepnrn@gmail.com> wrote:
--Latest Bombshell which isn't surprising - St.Stephen's & Venkateshwara College which were among the much hyped premier educational institutions in Delhi have been listed no.12 & 14 respectively way below many other colleges, in the NAAC listing just released. As I mentioned it is not surprising considering the quality of admissions : the reservations have ensured that the OBC's, SC's, ST's were given Free entry and meritorious students with very good percentage were left groping for admission in DU's Colleges and many from good English medium schools had to settle for "Evening Colleges"from among lesser ranked DU colleges.A couple of years back while interacting with some student leaders I found that they were unable to even communicate properly in writing and even their spoken english wasn't good - this I found of students from Venkateshwara College & when I enquired, the general students were really saddened that they have to contend with a classful of not too bright candidates who were dependent on notes of better students. So you have a scenario where a Class of say 60 students has 20 very bright students with high scores ( 98% ) and 40 students ( SC/ST/OBC ) who are grappling to understand lectures in english and have gained admission due to a faulty system of Reservations. The Lecturer would be in a dillemma : How to teach these 40 students in simplest lecture and language and on the other hand they need to educate taking the 20 students to a higher level. This is not just the case of St.Stephen's & Venkateshwara alone.....almost all DU's - 77 colleges spread all across Delhi. Now questions are being raised on the basis on which NAAC has listed the colleges.Regards,Stephen NarayananFreelance Educational Consultant/Corporate Training facilitatorMob.:-9868386192
