Sr. Network Engineer

Chicago IL – Local candidates only, in person interview required

US Citizen or Green Card Preferred

1 year contract role with possible extension thereafter


Key Responsibilities 
As a Network Engineer, you'll assist with reviewing requirements, working within existing and developing new conventions and standards, design, implement and operationally support network infrastructure. This position is organizationally part of an Engineering team, and will need to contribute to developing and reviewing documentation suitable for Operations.


Specifically responsible for: 
* Implementing and testing infrastructure changes and enhancements in the lab or production environments
* Branch office network: network infrastructure refresh deployments, add/change configuration 
* Developing and using configuration templates and/or documentation for solid, repeatable builds and deployments in an Enterprise environment

* Participate in an Agile/Scrum project teams 
* Create documentation (Visio, Excel, etc.) for new or revised networks 

Scope of Work
* Primary deployment engineer for configuration of Cisco IOS based switches, Palo Alto FW, Aruba wireless, Infoblox DDI, Cisco wireless access points, and Cisco ASA firewalls, primarily in the branch office scenario

* Deployment engineer for WAN optimization technologies (Riverbed)

* Network Engineering support for Cisco NX-OS line of switches, F5 BIG-IP LTMs, F5 BIG-IP GTM

 

Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Experience required: 
* 3-5 years of Network Engineering experience required
* CCNA and/or CCNP certification required

Demonstrated experience in the following
Primary

* Network Deployment and Support: Cisco Catalyst Switches (IOS), Cisco Nexus 5K Switches, Cisco ISRs and routing (OSPF and/or BGP), MPLS/VPLS, DMVPN, Palo Alto FWs, Aruba wireless, Infoblox DDI, Cisco ASA FWs, Cisco controller based Wireless Access Points, F5 LTM/GTM
* Networking Deployment and Support: IP Networks, routing, firewalls, monitoring, wireless, hardware load balancing, high availability technologies and change control procedures
Secondary

Experience with Solarwinds Orion and NCM products is a plus
* Role may also require experience in deployment, and support of a global enterprise IP network
