Whether it is Open Office or separated cabins.... the most important aspect is whether the official have Open mindset devoid of ego & other occupational hierarchy setbacks. If the official is collaborative, his separated cabin would have open access to all. However in my working experience I have come across many HOD's who have changed colors overnight when given promotion and a separate office. They suddenly developed closed mindset behind closed doors.AWFIS is one corporate venture which is renting out office space - an open office and a fun place to work....and Yes, it also depends to a great extent on the work environment to bring out the best in a person. If it is a scientific research, it is justified to have secrecy and separate office to enable concentration on the research work. However at work place it would be ideal to promote open access - with timing restriction for students of course.Warm Regards,Stephen NarayananFreelance Educational Consultant/Corporate Training facilitatorMob.:-9868386192On Mon, Jan 30, 2017 at 2:35 PM, Prof. Bholanath Dutta <bnath.dutta@gmail.com> wrote:--The "open office" is supposed to tear down walls and encourage collaboration.
