Respected Sirs' ....almost everybody knows and accepts that humanities are a must for the progress of society and civilization .....man lived even without a car, cell phone, and air conditioner and so on so forth....in fact, he was more happy than even the modern man who is living in total uncertainty ....
.......God only knows when a bomb blast may take place in a Railway station or a Bus depot.... and nobody knows when a civilian aircraft may be blasted in mid-air by the missiles fired by the terrorists.... or when a person/ somebody may be killed in communal riots or may be killed due to racial jingoism or fascism....
.... but the thing is if somebody pursues a course in subjects like Philosophy or sociology like me, he will be viewed as a third rate fellow.... On the contrary, if one pursues course in Engineering (more so from IITs) or a Management course from (IIM), he will be considered as the true genius and a truly emerging intellectual....
.... that is the hypocrisy of Modern India in general and particularly those of Academics and and the so-called Intelligentsia in particular....this will continue for some time....a day will come wherein society needs a balanced approach to the pursuit of Academics....
.... with regards... dr vishnumurty narra, M.Sc.(IT); Ph.D. (Philosophy); Ph.D. (Mgmt)

Education is meant for converting man into worthy human beings. The education that fails to do so is anti-human likely to lead the man to complete destruction of human race.
That is why humanities need to be an essential component of man's education. It is right to recall at this atage that in Gurukul System there were 64 subjects (Kalas) many of them like psychology, judiciary, medicine, literature, music, dance, painting, communication, etc., were included.
