Hello all MTC friends,
Observing the data as given by Dr.S.S Dey, an inference can be drawn that our education and training i.e. skill development is lop sided. Our next generation is learning blindly without caring what is required by the industry in our country.
Who will lead to guide them? I saw a picture about change. The person on the podium says: who wants change?
All sitting opposite the podium raised their hands. 100%, it is awesome said the person behind the podium.
Next he says: who will change? All hands were down and heads were stooped of the people on the other side of the podium.
Last he said: who will lead the change? By this time, none was on their seats to hear him.
In the same way, who will lead to fill this skill gap in the coming years so that the country may not suffer from productive skills.
More guidance, more career counselling, more interaction between Government, Government Departments and Industry required.
Valued views of worthy MTCians are welcome.

64% skill shortage in India means a very big number in crore, in absolute term. China has 24% skill shortage, though equally a large number but much much less than that of India.. A matter of intense worry indeed.
