Re: [MTC Global] [Weekdays Discussion-I] Declines in Student Number & Challenges of rightsizing

What today we see or going to see in the next decade are the outcomes of the paths trodden by the earlier two generations  after India's freedom. This can be arrested through:

  1. Be dutiful
  2. Be accountable
  3. Have Process Management
  4. Have Performance Management
  5. Must have cult of continuous improvement (in positive direction of course!)
  6. Do no spare the rod in case of defaulters.
  7. Education calls for spirit:  spirit needs no infrastructure, money, or so. Rethink education based on spirit (good/bad) and its outcomes in line with:

  • Swamy Vivekananda:  "Educated derelict is like an eagle flying high in the sky- but keeping its eyes on the prey on the ground".
  • Bharatratna Sir M Visvesvaraya:  The purpose (outcomes) of education: "When a young man leaves the institution after a course of training, he should be clean in speech and habits, with a correct sense of patriotism, loyalty to the country, aptitude for initiative, love for self-help, appreciation of the value of time, respect for law and order, and knowledge of the value of right thinking and right living, sufficiently well-equipped to fall into a position in some business or other calling and be able to support himself ".

Subject: [MTC Global] [Weekdays Discussion-I] Declines in Student Number & Challenges of rightsizing
Interesting discussion of higher education institutions . All talk about declines in student numbers & challenges of "rightsizing".

It would be interested to hear the views of the esteemed MTCians.
