Dear Sir, How much is Higher Education valued?. A few examples are revealing
1. To enter politics that is being practiced in India, there is no barrier whatsoever.
Thus no educational requirement is needed.
2. To be an entrepreneur too, there is no premium on higher education.
3. To join the Govt service, all you need is a basic graduation and the intelligence to
clear the UPSC or the State PSC exam. No premium on higher education here either.
4. For becoming a religious leader too, you need only basic education in religious
studies. In fact, many influential religious leaders are not even literate.
5. To be a lawyer, there was a requirement for LLB, but this too is not really essential
to practice, though it may be required to register as a lawyer.
The only place where higher education is required is to be an academic. It is not a
requirement for running an educational institution.
In changing times people learn and adapt, but they may do so even without any formal
higher education!
It would be interesting to evaluate the real value of higher education in the larger
society.

In India the fate of education is in the hands of uneducated and corrupt politicians.
Majority of thecolleges in the Northare filled withanti social elements and infested with
party politics. Unfortunately, the academia has been largely passive. To me,
the future is nothing but an extension where we are today- the present. And it does not
look very promising.Cheers.

solidarity of work force and this is another problematic area which the future managers
would need to contend with.
Today's TOI brought forth a new revelation...the army needs protection. They have asked
for creation of a new unit corps of 18K men to secure their camps. On one hand no doubt
this would provide employment opportunity for many but on the other hand doesn't
it reveal the fragility of our armed force in not being able to secure their own
establishments/camps?
Future dealings in any field would require LEADERSHIP quality.
