Re: [MTC Global] What do you think is the future of business education?

The students passing out of bschools should be able to develop employee branding and organizational citizenship behaviour. They should not be behaving simply like they earn just to make their own living.

1.       Cases like Maruti Suzuki have happened even in the non-industrial areas or non-rural areas . The cause is not the workforce but vested interests with political influence along with money and muscle power. This menace can be easily tackled by any sensible government (exceptions aside). Do not tolerate any kind of violence or gate blockage by workforce or the union.
2.       I think it is a pragmatic approach to create specialized security and intelligence force for army establishments in the field so that forces can fully concentrate on their training and readiness for action. Please note that forces are subject to movement from one place to other place whereas security units will stay put at one place where they would know both inside and outside conditions and may develop their own informers within the civil society.

The huge migration of population from rural to urban areas and even rural areas being brought under corporation and nagar palika for tax-free industrial estate would no doubt bring problem of its own. We have perhaps forgotten how the General Manager - HR of Maruti Suzuki was beaten and burnt to death. Militancy is rising among solidarity of work force and this is another problematic area which the future managers would need to contend with.
Today's TOI brought forth a new revelation...the army needs protection. They have asked for creation of a new unit corps of 18K men to secure their camps. On one hand no doubt this would provide employment opportunity for many but on the other hand doesn't it reveal the fragility of our armed force in not being able to secure their own establishments/camps?
Future dealings in any field would require LEADERSHIP quality.

Stephen

Dear All,
The business managers of the future will be required to serve the 66% of population migrated to the urban areas and 33% in rural within next two decades. The responsibility of today's visionary is to take a long-term view to educate, equip and empower young working generation grooming them for respecting professional ethics and values.
