Re: [MTC Global] The world’s largest assessment of teenage students suggests happiness is crucial to learning

Dear All,
The educational start-ups from India seem to have done well by integrating these issues for business success:
  • Open Door is a platform that helps children learn math and science content with a focus on concepts and scientific thinking. Open Door claims to have clocked a revenue of Rs 50 lakh in 2016-17 by only working with 32 schools. The venture is now poised to clock a revenue of Rs 3 crore this year by working with over 100 schools. It has raised $150,000 in funding from an angel investor.
  • Standing tall in the segment at the moment are Byju's, which already has $140 million in its kitty, and Mumbai-based Topper. The report suggests that since 2007, close to $1.1 billion has been pumped into the space.
  • Edtech is among the largest capitalized spaces in the country, with an annual government spending at $63 billion and a private spend of $56 billion.
Cheers,

Happiness is crucial to learning! Marvelous!!

No two opinions.
What is happiness? Is it not the state of not-unhappiness?
What is unhappiness?

Revisit the finding: "the critical connection between wellbeing, belonging, and achievement. (The report defines student wellbeing as "the psychological, cognitive, social, and physical qualities that students need to live a happy and fulfilling life.")".

Will the absence of any one-well-being, belonging and achievement- lead to unhappiness? Is it not necessary that these three need to exist integrated? Whether only well-being is enough to be happy?

Now look what is unhealthy? A healthy person hardly thinks about his organs as if they do not exist. But the moment one gets a feel of pain, one realizes the existence of organ and feels unhealthy.

Similarly, happiness is a state of mind, the thoughtless mind, totally detached from the mundane world as if it does not exist.

How to reach to this state? Human mind is very dynamic, vibrant, very fluid difficulty to arrest its flow. However, through proper education and training it can be arrested. What are the means then? hard to spell out as they are too dynamic and in-numerable! It is hard to find a formula fit to all sizes. Formulas are also, therefore, bound to be innumerable. The wisdom of society can resolve this issue.
