For over 12 years I ran two sandwich 4 years degree programs in (1) Mechanical and (2) Production engineering with total intake 120 students pa. Students used to be with industry for one year, i.e., 6th and 8th Semester. I never had any problem for placement because::

  1. I was totally committed to the prgs.
  2. The prgs and in-plant training was meticulously designed, planned and implemented.
  3. If your students can add value to industry, you are most welcomed.
  4. Board of Training provides in-plant training to students with stipend under Apprenticeship Act 1971.
  5. The Director of Board of Training used to be a member of the GB of the College.
  6. The supervisory faculty need to be smart and innovating so that value addition to industry is assured, e.g., one of students in Sandwik Asia, Pune,  reduced clamping of honing sticks from 20 mm to 12 mm, saving thereby 2-3 lakhs per week of industry.
  7. Many of the students used to to get placement before the declaration of University results.

If government includes the training of students from higher education institutions in the approved CSR activities list, almost all students can be absorbed for internship.
