Re: [MTC Global] NEET is creating divide

I sincerely think that we have experimented with CET, NEET, GMAT, JEE, GATE,etc. since a decade or so. My queries are:

  1. SSC and HSC are considered entry points for Diploma or Jr. College and senior college respectively. Why to load students for a  few more entrance  examinations? Is it not repetition and waste of national resources?
  2. How many students are admitted to good institutes like IITs or NITs or IIMs? Not even 2 % of students population? Can we say with confidence these 2% students are mainly responsible for national development?
  3. Are the 98% students who fail to join institutes of national importance worthless for the country?
  4. Being in the illusionary race, we the public, are promoting coaching class culture, corruption and parallel economy.Coaching classes are factories producing robots and not intellectuals. When India was the British Colony, India had gems like Ravindranath Tagore (1913), Iswarchandra vidyasagar, J C Bose and C V Raman (1930). Where do we Indian stand? Our universities stand (not a single University in the first 100 Top World Universities)?
  5. Whom are we promoting? For what?

Sir,

I think it is time for students show enough maturity to take up the exams. What else is there in the syllabus, it is same subjects except for the pattern which students needs to be trained. It is time that our schooling system equip students with better structure to prepare and face exams.

Across the country there is a common concern that NEET syllabus does not match with the state board syllabus and CBSE and ICSE syllabus students have the upper edge in NEET exam. NEET is conducted by the CBSE.

Shouldn't it be questioned where the machinery failed? Is the exam it designs, NEET, unnecessarily punishing or don't our schools really teach anything worthwhile?
