As a break-through-strategy, for addressing above listed challenges in a synergistic way, in my opinion, the research challenges need to be prioritized by technology and business schools since they are uniquely positioned to offer very strong research contributions relevant to science, industry and society. 

• Research conducted within technology and business schools needs to be scientifically rigorous, of practical relevance to business and society, and should offer multidisciplinary perspectives. 
• Funding may be helpful to college budgets at a time when traditional sources of revenue such as MBA programs may be declining.

Business schools must exist and compete within their unique markets.
