My take is:
- Human Resource is the prime source that generates other (secondary) resources so necessary for the survival of human beings, as an individual or a member of human community.
- Unlike other living creatures, for man, only change (as a result of continuing growth and development) is the only constant.
- Change so necessary for man's survival is very dynamic, agile and vibrant and follows VUCA model.
- Naturally HR has to sustain such a model that calls for suitable/acceptable everchanging HR policies.
- Hence it is not unexpected that HR policy every after 5 decades (2 generations) will change dramatically. Those who assimilate such a change will be the winners, masters.
- Succinctly, HR is going to stay in one or the other form till the man going to stay.
The never-ending debate about the future of Human Resources took another major twist as Airbnb, a company valued at $25.5 billion dollars based in the shared economy space, recently announced that they are redefining their HR function in terms of what it is and what it does with the appointment of a new Global Head of Employee Experience to oversee and connect everything to do with their "workplace as an experience" vision, which is central to their culture and customer-centric approach.
