This is an excellent proposal provided it works on spirit with vision. Foe example:
- 'Let Teachers Teach' series: This is what teachers are expected to do. There are 16 Vidyas and 64 Kalas. But the big question is what teachers should teach? Uniform syllabus thrust by third party? Own community based Kalas and Vidyas?
- ministry's decision to not mandate college teachers to conduct research. will it lead us to our vision? Teaching is a continuing research process. Minds of teachers mending the minds of taught. And mind play is a sort of VUCA. The yield of teaching is trained teachers and not students. Teacher's need to remain bubbling, vibrant and dynamic. If s/he becomes stagnant, the flavor of teaching is lost. Mandatory research is of no avail. It needs to the very nature of a teacher. It is the prerequisite to be a successful teacher. Publication is hardly identify this
- Why should we expect teachers at colleges with second-class facilities – if that – to perform research and publish so that they can be good teachers? Research attitude needs to be the very nature of teacher. Facilities are secondary. Otherwise, Edison would not have been Edison. Start with trivial matters, develop attitude and one day you are the peak.

Subject: [MTC Global] Debate: 'Let Teachers Teach' Makes Most Sense for Teachers Outside India's Big Cities
This is part of the 'Let Teachers Teach' series, discussing the Union human resource development ministry's decision to not mandate college teachers to conduct research.
Why should we expect teachers at colleges with second-class facilities – if that – to perform research and publish so that they can be good teachers?
