550 hrs of classroom sessions ( lectures and seminars) or does it also include some time allocated to programme management activities .

if it is a purely academic role  with no  time allocation for consultancy or paid research , 550 hours sounds  just bout the norm   approx 12 hrs a week  assuming a 45 week annual calendar

IIM professors hardly cost anything to the institute. They earn their salary and more through their consultancy assignments, writings and research. Compare this aspect with B-schools.
