Former President Barack Obama's connections to Kenya are well known. So it was perhaps not entirely surprising that the former president of the United States, whose father was a Kenyan student in the United States, spoke out ahead of the East African country's election Tuesday, appealing for a "peaceful and credible" vote and urging Kenyans to reject "tribal and ethnic hatred."
