I have tried , Bill. doesn’t work. can help find access but in no way lets you see down and into the canals to the apex, like a scope can do

Anyone tried just using a half-decent intraoral camera held in the left hand as a substitute for using a microscope in endo?

 

Not great while water’s spraying all over the place like when prepping a tooth, but endo??

 

Magnification can be similar to the heavy iron scopes and a heck of a lot easier to slew around to visualize things better.  Yeah, not 3D, but that turns out to be pretty irrelevant as soon as you put an instrument into the field.  The mind immediately snaps into 3D mode and understands exactly where stuff is.

Just kidding a friend.  It is very likely he bought it just for your office.  Lugging those things around would be a task I would not want unless you were built like a tank.  You could not use the base as a mobile part.  It would have to stay put…about 200 pounds.  But is does give him a spare to store off site if one of his goes down.  You probably have more room than him.  Are you in Dallas? I’d love to see some of the offices while I’m out there.

Well, it's certainly difficult to know intentions, and heck, maybe he left the one here that is on it's last leg for all I know. He has had it here for about 6 months, and we have to roll it into a closet when he isn't here. No one else uses it.

Partner does wisdom teeth and some implants. Our resident periodontist does more implants and perio surgery. The endodontist works every Saturday (he bought a microscsope just to leave at our office), so there really is very little we refer out. Pediatric ortho - yep.
