Dear Sirs and ladies

I feel the downgrading of Business Education had started with the opening of the so called  Department of Management Studies in Universities and colleges. The MBA is supposed to be best delivered as a residential programme, where the graduates are groomed to be good managers rather than just going through a useless programme which is no better than any other Arts and Commerce Programme in the college. The students learn the managerial skills more through interactions rather than from books and in class rooms.

Henry Mintzberg famously stated that: "Conventional MBA programmes train the wrong people in the wrong ways with the wrong consequences." He also commented on the curriculum of business schools stating that: "Business schools create MBAs with good analytical skills—rather than 'managers' with genuine leadership and execution abilities". Therefore, it will be more appropriate to say that it is the business schools are at crossroads rather than saying that business education is at crossroads.
