  Job Description

Cache DB Admin:Responsibilities?Responsible for creating and maintaining Cache database configuration, synchronization and maintenance?Perform server software installations and upgrades, monitor, analyze and troubleshoot system environments, maintain appropriate version control, administration of scripts for file manipulation and programming access to multiple environments?Perform server software installations and upgrades, monitor, analyze and troubleshoot system environments, maintain appropriate version control, administration of scripts for file manipulation and programming access to multiple environments; synchronization of data and programs across environments; perform or assist in programming, interfacing and data conversion activities?Responsible for synchronization of data and programs across environments;?Mentors Database team members and provides technical expertise to other staff in areas related to Cache database troubleshooting and maintenance.?Additio

 

Skill and Experience Details:

-->Database Admin(L1)-Entry level position. Works under close supervision to perform low-leveldatabase management tasks such as adding users, managing space etc.Participates in testing back-ups, ensuring maximum up-time and maximumperformance of database. Familiarity with basic administrative commands isexpected at this level. Front-line interaction with users to assist with lowlevel trouble-shooting requirements.

 

-->Database Admin(L3)-Independently performs database management tasks such as controlling accesspermissions and privileges. Responsible for ensuring that storage, archiving,backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly. Writes databasedocumentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for thedata dictionary. Train users on database methodologies. Responsible forrefining the 'logical design' so that it can be translated into a specific datamodel and further refining the 'physical design' to meet system storagerequirements. Plan data flows for a new or revised database. Guide new teammembers.

Is expected to trainand mentor junior administrators. Maintains a roster for shift management (if applicable). Is expected to participate in weekly operational meetings, change management meetings. Expected to lead the team from transition to delivery and also work with Project manager for Infrastructure projects and SI work. Should engage in Continuous Improvement Projects or SIPs to improve productivity and SLAs. In Package Implementation space: The incumbent leads and manage complex DBA projects, has expertise in new technologies, developments, database and application upgrades. Mentors and groom DBAs.
