Re: [MTC Global] Smriti Irani

I have sometimes wondered whether the education we have received has actually achieved what it was supposed to achieve.

I think it has. It has made most of us...cut..pasted or glued...packed..and ready made..look alike pieces.

It just doesn't allow that freedom of free breathing that good education should. The ability to feel liberal and act freely is missing.

I am not endorsing that having a less qualified individual occupy a HRD ministry is a great idea ...but I am wondering...what a more qualified would have done...

If its language skills and communication skills or for that matter coordination and leadership skills...the newly appointed HRD minister has already demostrated these

If it is organizational skills, self motivation and initiative then they are present. Does she need a certificate on that.

If its creativity, ability to learn and relearn and re-innovate herself..I think we should not be questioning her on that.

So what is it..that bothers our mind...it is the subject matter skills.

Perhaps here is where she will be tested. She has no doubt a tough job ahead. A really tough one..but then if she is genuinely devoted to being true to her nature.

It will take her time and would be a difficult task...but shouldn't be impossible for her.

All the skills I have mentioned can also be found in a academician ...but to have all the skills...be a politician...and an academician...that is a tall order...

Thanks and regards

Dr. Padma
