Position overview: The Architect will be responsible for alignment across portfolio of SAP applications. They are responsible for understanding the business, functional, process and customer requirements to analyze and assist with design of the technical solution. They will provide technical leadership and ensure adherence and adoption of best practices. They will collaborate with all technical teams to ensure the cross-team integration is in place. They must be able to work at all levels within the organization. Additionally, the SAP Basis Architect must be able to clearly communicate status, issues, and risks. This individual will be indirectly responsible for leading and directing the work activities of others, and must demonstrate personal productivity including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Principal Accountabilities: Leadership (40%) - End-to-end stewardship and facilitation of the overall process for delivering solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure targeted solution performance targets are being proactively met.
- Architecture Subject Matter Expertise (40%)
- Establish standards, naming conventions, best practices, design review requirements, documentation standards and design patterns
- Manage adherence to standards for design and implementation
- Facilitate and lead transition of architecture to production
- Provide guidance and architectural oversight during design, build, test, and implementation phases.
- Consult on technical designs and build estimates Collaboration (15%)
- Accountable to Enterprise Architecture (EA) to ensure standards, quality, and integration of the solution meet EA guidelines. Also provide feedback to EA team to ensure overall architecture lessons are captured
- Work across architecture domains to ensure end to end solution quality, identify and resolve issues and manage inter-dependencies between all integration points.
- Miscellaneous Duties as Assigned (5%)
Qualifications Required: - Degree in computer science, information systems, management information systems or technical related degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- 10+ years of business or IT experience
- 7+ years experience working as SAP Basis Administration experience
- 7+ years' experience working with architecture, analysis, technical design and/or development
- Demonstrated ability in creating enterprise standards, approaches, and integration between architecture domains
- Demonstrated knowledge working with SAP Applications and Tools: MDM, TM, Solution Manager, PI, ECC, HTR
- Demonstrated ability in performance tuning methodologies, capacity planning, and release management processes.
- Strong infrastructure & database knowledge
- Adept at dealing with ambiguous tasks and changing deliverables.
- Ability to reduce ambiguity within the team, department, and function.
- Demonstrated ability to reprioritize work to meet changing requirements and timelines.
- Experience setting and implementing development standards.
- Strong proven collaboration skills across multiple teams to reach common goals.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience leading a diverse, indirect workgroup.
- Experience in leading and working with global 3rd party resources.
- Strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and problem solving skills.

- Ability to travel up to 5%, including international.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of project principles; including planning, cost, quality, schedule, gated process and critical path management
Preferred: - Experience with functional process design areas and business processes
- Experience with the SAP and footprint applications.
- Experience working with the SAP Configuration tools (ChaRM, HANA, NZDT, SRM, BSM, Wiley, MII)
- Experience with application integration processes and tools.
- Experience with the following applications: Data Integrator, Data Quality, Information Steward, Netweaver Portal, MDM, Tibco, and SAP PI.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze technical information, evaluates products, services, and makes recommendations.
