The data or information or argument (s)is not new. As an Indian on foreign land I work/behave very nicely observing the rules and code of conduct of that country, bags all praise. Then what happens when I am in India? India is a Democratic Country and governance is the reflection what the public wants. Personal gains dominate social responsibility. In India person is important and not society. Are we sure that either Govt. or public are really national minded and national making, where it is an open secret; laws are not to be observed in spirit (only worship them as we worship our Gods in House); show me the person; will show you the proper law, grease my hands many can purchase anything, punishments under law are hardly appear in true sense? If this is the attitude how India can be expected to be a super-power? We are happy to praise our kins and kiths who serve US!
Have we got any right to advise the Govt.?
When we were slaves, India had 2 Noble Laureates, in 1947 we had three world class universities, Madras, Bombay and Calcutta, India had 4 Technical Asian famous institutes: Pune, Roorkee. Shibpur and Guindy established 1847-1854! We need to change our attitude, be law abiding, no corruption, nation first. This is the key that we have missed since 2000 years ago! Are we ready to sacrifice our comfort zone in the national interests? ____________________________________________________________________ On Tue, 02 Sep 2014 15:52:50 +0530 Patrick de Souza

Universities and institutions should not be treated as tools of political patronage. Knowledge creation cannot be substituted with indoctrination. It is puerile and self-defeating to replace one kind of dogma with another kind of dogma. The choice is our's to make - do we want to be known for exporting brilliant minds, or do we want to create opportunities for these minds here in India, so that they can drive growth, create jobs and help India compete in the global knowledge economy?
