looking for a network and firewall expert for a consulting engagement in the financial services industry in NYC. This consultant will be working with a world class security team using leading edge technologies.
Job Requirements
Advanced Firewall, Advanced TCP/IP, Intermediate Network Migration, Intermediate Network Design, Intermediate Network Communication, Intermediate Network Architecture, Intermediate Network Analysis, Intermediate Information/Network Security
DESCRIPTION / DUTIES: + Defining application servers and generating network data flow reports for every server + Removing noise from the reports as TCP session state is not always tracked properly + Profiling application data flows using the reports and creating a detailed network diagram that describes how application components work together + Reconciling the application profile with the application owner or a third-party vendor, mapping communications to application processes + Reviewing application security framework: database security, file share security, web application security, user access authentication and authorization, configuration review practices in place + Determining target architecture and creating a detailed application move plan, describing activities for DEV, TEST, PROD environments + Upon plan acceptance, liaise between the application owner and IT operations teams during the application move -- REQUIREMENTS: + Solid understanding of resilient, distributed data center architecture, POD-based design and network topologies that support a scale-out architecture. + Strong understanding of security concepts: firewalls log management, cryptography, data protection and encryption, and network security. + Understanding of application workflow (or layer 7) such as, but not limited to, TCP/IP, HTTP/S, Load Balancing, SSH, Apache, etc.. + In-depth, advanced performance troubleshooting skills related to compute, storage and networking in a large-scale environment. + Strong documentation and organization skills. + Have a solid knowledge of firewalls, ACLs, and their capabilities + Have experience in software development, understand common application design principles, use of databases, architecture of multi-tier applications + Possess firm knowledge of security and authentication mechanisms available in Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux environments + Be fluent with Microsoft Excel and Visio
