I have read a number of mails relating to blaming IIPM and the likes and exhorting action against these. Let me become the proverbial devil's advocate.

What about the various regulatory agencies like AICTE, NCTE, UGC, NAAC, NBA, etc. having given the approvals, accreditation, legitimacy to a large number of bogus and sub-standard institutions. As per the report of Ishwar Dayal Committee (set up by none other than Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India), overwhelming 80% of institutions approved by AICTE are sub-standard. Why no action against the mandarins of these regulatory agencies? Why the top brass of these regulatory agencies should not be arrested for working against the legislative mandates of respective Acts as per which these regulatory agencies were established and thereby indulging in cheating the nation?
