Re: [MTC Global] How do you create an equitable work environment?

Dear All,

Prof. Kiran has presented some invaluable tools for creating an equitable work environment. I would like add a few more:

  1. Have Job Evaluation manual
  2. Sound compensation policy based on performance and job difficulty points (JDP), jobs with equal JDPs must be paid equally.
  3. Along with CSR implement EHS.
  4. Let every one know, sense and committed to Vision and Mission statements of an organization.
  5. Maintain positive and synergistic climate so that every one experiences delight in one's job..
  6. Scientific job Design and Workplace layout.

Dear Sir An equitable organization is one in which there are equal opportunities for
advancement at each level of management. This will happen when the Organization
continually attempts to increase the pie of opportunities and distributing them as
matching the competency of the people
How can this happen?
1. Organization Growth: Horizontal growth in terms of new markets, new business, new set
of customers, new products and services, etc.
Vertical growth in terms of higher level decision making and organizational
responsibilities
2. Up-skilling the people: All persons in the Organizations to be up-skilled to become
competent to undertake future challenges posed by growth and by associating with academic
and research institutions
3. Embracing Research and Innovation: The culture of fact based decision making and
utilizing the latest advances in technology as well as continuous improvement.
4. Spreading a team culture with more avenues for leadership roles
5. A valuable role for people of all ages both within the organization as well as outside
the Organization by creating and expanding partnerships.
Such an organization will be able to expand opportunities all the time and make a
valuable contribution to the community beside becoming self sustaining in its business as
well.
I would think that Businesses must do CSR as an integral part of its normal business
activity and not as a one time gifting of funds that most of them do.
Best Regards,

Can we dream such an organization with out having favoritism inside in any part of the
world? It is an impossibility because we are human beings. Every person or individuals
has liking and disliking, favoritism and unfavouritism, bias and son on. All individuals
are different in their look, management, thinking, temperament, emotions etc but there
are so many in such organization having similar personality and such people may joined
together and work together formally or informally for achieving group objectives or goal.
The outsiders  or other people who do not like such working in the organization may term
it as favouritism. When organization is achieving its objectives with out hindrance then
there is no harm but when such favouritsm damages the whole purpose of the organization
then we may have to object. Otherwise let it go. Ultimately every organization is
existing to fulfill the desired goal. Wherever and when ever the organizations are there
there will be favouritism.
