It is so easy to blame the authorities,so little done etc..yes all of those are true.
But we as people are also so part and parcel of all this nonsense-we bribe,we clog drains, and we build breaking every rule possible.
Suddenly we become wise and whine-people were warned to pack and be ready to leave at short notice.No. They wont.Even now they have been told not to go back home -yet most did.
But the city proved one thing-the spirit of Chennai and the way people went all out to help.

This is obvious and brought to limelight at least through the intolerable climatic changes, still there are more states where the situation is the same but yet to come out to public to understand / get influenced. All the tanks were closed and converted into plots! The Strom water drains can not replace various drainage channels.Urban hydrology in not studied by the town planners.Climate change is not considered at all. What is the result?

I think we as a citizen and our local administration is also responsible for this problem because we never think and workout for these natural calamities. On Wed, Dec 2, 2015 at 12:48 PM, Prof. Bholanath Dutta <bnath.dutta@gmail.com> wrote:--Chennai—home to offices of large IT companies like Tata Consultancy Servies, Cognizant and Infosys—is among the worst hit areas.
