Re: [MTC Global] SKILL INDIA ~ Facts and Figures

A lot is being done. We have the whole list of services provider mentioned here all in action. And all suffer from the same Indian diseases that finally makes the word outcomes meaningless.
My question has been why divide learning into.knowledge and skill? Whee shouldn't we from the age of 5 instil skill n knowledge in the child?
Here are the advantages of doing do: more children will come to school esp govt schools. What seems a meaningless study to them will become purposeful.
Second the crores we will save in not setting up skill centres
Third even the educated are good and find joy in DIY
Fourth and for me most important we will appreciate the dignity of labor.

Dear All,

Dr. Waghodekar's observations are quite candid. We certainly need to go for large scale skill enhancement programs across all sectors. Providing skills is the responsibility the government(s), the educational and training institutions, the corporate sector and the voluntary organizations. Acquiring skills is the duty of citizens. The faster we recognize this fact and realize the goal, better it is for the nation.

Dear All,

India has the second greatest skill shortage in the world. India has population over 125 crore and USA has 31.89 crore (2014) . Skill shortage in absolute number is much much higher in India  than that of USA, a state certainly not of happiness.

If India wants to make up good for this shortage , many many jobs are on the anvil and if shortage is reduced just imagine the addition to the the job creation and of course to the national wealth, provided.....
