Dear Prof. Bholanath & Erudite MTCians,
This ought to provoke an interesting and useful dialogue. My take on the subject is as under:
Education is aimed at knowledge and skills represent competencies. They are the two sides of the same coin, viz., 'knowing' and 'doing' or know-how and do-how. One needs them both in order to achieve success in a chosen career/profession and/or in life. Their close, continuous and active interface strongly advocates lifelong learning.
Let's not ignore the fact that the third dimension, namely, 'attitude(s)' is equally important.
