Job Title: Teradata DBA
Location: Delaware City
Duration: 12 months
Job description:
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 database support
· Monitor incident ticket queue and troubleshoot and resolve database incidents within SLAs
· Monitor backup results and resolve/troubleshoot failed database backups
· Monitor storage capacity and consumption, trend long term usage, and proactively work with Architecture group to plan capacity expansion
· Monitor database and server performance and identify current and future potential bottle-necks - PDCR & DBQL
· Review, maintain, and periodically test database recovery procedures
· Monitor violations discovered by security compliance tool and remediate issues as needed
· Review and support the installation of database maintenance & security patches and upgrade databases to supported release levels
· Support application upgrades of third party software, where a database is a part of the vendor's implementation
· Configure and maintain Viewpoint and TASM
· Maintain documentation store of DBA operational policies and procedures
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely-related (e.g. Math, Engineering)
· 3+ years of experience in a team setting as a Teradata DBA, providing 24/7 support to mission-critical applications and databases
· 5+ years experience as an Teradata DBA in a production environment highly desired
· Experience with Oracle and/or DB2 UDB is a plus
· Solid and proven skills in managing database lifecycles - builds, patching, backups, recoveries, tuning
· Strong familiarity with industry-standard monitoring, backup, and security tools
· Experience with Viewpoint, TASM, PDCR and DBQL technologies
· Application development experience is
