Re: Some Important Liberation Documents

Dear Mr. Atang,

Greetings.
Thank you for sending these documents again. The 1991 document from the Anglophone Elites in Douala was sent to the Ambasbay group last week or so. While appreciating the efforts of the time, the facts in those documents are far from correct, just as those of AAC. We had not researched our history properly by then. You see that the Douala document rushed to the conclusion of there being a union and talks of Foumban Accords and so on. After reading that document, I put out some questions but no one has been able to answer. One of them was that if anyone has ever seen a copy of the alleged Foumban Accords, let them publish it. I also called on the writers of that document to say who in the whole of Southern Cameroons signed the alleged federal constitution. All of these falsities were passing for truths, even to AAC1. I regret to say that our history cannot stand on those documents, nor can they give us a way forward, insofar as they are based on assumptions put in our heads by the colonial regime.

Regards,
Atemnkeng.

My Dear Southern Cameroonian:

It was nice talking with you this morning.  I am pleased to provide you with this brief historical background regarding the attached documents. I suggest that you, first of all, read/disseminate the first document from Douala Anglophone Elites in 1991, before delving into the 1993 Buea Declaration, also attached.  It was the first document (produced by the Anglophone Elites in Douala) that triggered the birth of the Cameroon Anglophone Movement (CAM), which over the time also metamorphosed into SCARM, headed at different times by Dr. Enonchong, Ambassador Martin Epie, and Dr. Arnold B. Yongbang. It was the Cameroon Anglophone Movement (CAM), under the leadership of His Excellency Ambassador Epie) that spearheaded the historic and famous All Anglophone Conference in 1993 at Buea Mount Mary Maternity.  The three Convenors -Elad, Anyangwe, and Munzu- including Mukong, Fai Visha, Ebini, Yongbang, Charles Taku, and yours truly, worked hard to facilitate the smooth operation of AAC-1. This Conference came up with the historic Buea Declaration (the second document attached to this e-mail).

Thank you for your interest in the legitimate emancipation struggle for over 6 million English speaking people of the former British Trust of the Southern Cameroons (Ambazonia).

Fellow Southern Cameroonians (Ambazonians), we better remain focused and get this job done NOW, especially as we are beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel!

Sincerely yours in the Struggle,
Christopher Atang, Ph.D.,                           5507 Pipingwood Drive                         Houston, Texas 77084                                                                                                "People may not remember exactly what you did, or what you said - but they will remember how you made them feel."             - Anonymous
