Re: [MTC Global] CSR is not PR, you do good because you want to do good

Right from birth - whatever religion our family believes in - we are taught to part with utilities and donate them at worship places so that they may be useful to the needy. When we grow, this spirit of helping others in some way or the other also grows. In companies, this is called CSR. This boosts the morale of the management on one part while CSR comes in the form of brand building and PR  to add value to the name of company.

When John.D Rockefeller and his brother William Rockefeller met Swami Vivekananda in USA, they asked one question: We want to see God. Swami Vivekanada smiled: Then serve the humanity.  These words infused the idea of serving the humanity with the spirit of "Vasudheva Kutumbkam" i.e. world is a family. Rockefeller brothers sponsored the study by Dr. Borlaug to research and find what could turn the soil of African countries. It is the result of this study that many African countries are now fertile and humans are able to cultivate there and feed their kids well.

CSR may be  voluntary PR. Whosoever knows about this truth in Africa or other countries, without any question mentally loves Rockefeller brothers.
