AICTE portal: Not a difficult 'job' to get one!

INDORE: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recently launched the first-of-its-kind in-house job portal and a repository of doctorate papers to check plagiarism. The council portal is absolutely free and will interconnect more than 7 million students enrolled across council approved institutions linked through email IDs. Industry stakeholders are being roped in to benefit both students and industry.

Students will be able to post their CVs by using the ID provided to them. Employers too can simply log on to look for prospective employees. "This council initiative will bride the gap between students and the industry. It is a platform where they can directly showcase their research work, which was not possible earlier. The portal will give industry a pool to recruit candidates," said senior academic PK Chande.

The move was initiated by chairman of AICTE, SS Mantha, to encourage academic networking and facilitate peer learning.

"Linking every college online will create an online pool. It will help check large-scale cheating and duplication in research papers," said Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research director MD Agarwal. The project will store every student's semester-wise results online and link it with his CV. The information will be sent to the industry head to recruit candidates depending on the vacancy. This central database will link up with an industry database of 8,000 stakeholders and help facilitate the placement process.
